The Best Alternatives to Yotpo for Loyalty and Referrals

Top 10 Yotpo Alternatives Infographic

Yotpo is one of the best-known names in ecommerce retention, with loyalty and reviews products used by brands on Shopify, on enterprise platforms such as Salesforce Commerce Cloud and Adobe Commerce, and on WooCommerce or BigCommerce. That breadth is also why some brands start comparing: a suite designed for every platform and every size of business is not always the simplest or cheapest fit for a growing Shopify store.

The ten alternatives to Yotpo below focus on loyalty and referral programs, from free Shopify apps to platforms that also connect to the till. Prices come from each vendor's own pricing page.

Why brands look for a Yotpo alternative

Yotpo's free plan is limited to a simple points program with referrals. Pro is priced from $199 a month and includes the first 500 orders; beyond that, each order costs between $0.20 and $0.05 depending on volume. Third-party VIP and point-of-sale support belong to the Premium plan, which is priced on request.

That structure is common for an enterprise-grade suite, and Yotpo's coverage of several ecommerce platforms remains a genuine strength. A Shopify brand that mainly needs third parties, referrals and in-store rewards at a predictable price, however, often finds them lower down other vendors' price lists. Brands attached to their Yotpo review widget do not have to give it up either: Loyoly, for instance, connects to Yotpo Reviews.

1. Loyoly: a loyalty specialist that works alongside Yotpo Reviews

Loyoly is the best alternative to Yotpo for brands that want a loyalty specialist without changing how they collect reviews. The platform integrates with Yotpo Reviews, as well as Judge.me, Trustpilot and Trusted Shops, and its team handles the migration of points, VIP tiers and customer history from the previous program, so members keep their balance when the switch happens.

VIP third parties are included from the entry Lite plan, at £87 a month for loyalty or £99 with referrals, excluding VAT, with prices set by monthly order band rather than per extra order. Beyond purchases, more than 40 verified missions reward Instagram stories, TikTok videos, product photos or Google reviews, and a wallet card developed in-house sits in Apple Wallet and Google Wallet. In store, Shopify POS, Cegid and Fastmag are supported natively. More than 600 brands use it, including the beauty brand La Belle Boucle, which moved its program over from Yotpo.

2. Growave: Yotpo's mix of reviews and loyalty in a single app

Growave appeals to Yotpo users for a simple reason: it sells loyalty and product reviews in the same app, under one subscription, alongside wishlists. Its free plan already combines points and reviews for up to 200 orders a month, and more than 1,200 merchants give it an average of 4.8.

The pricing comparison is direct. Growave's Growth plan costs $199 a month, the same entry price as Yotpo Pro, but includes 1,500 orders rather than 500, together with VIP tiers, store credit, wallet passes and a loyalty QR code for Shopify POS. Entry, at $15 for 500 orders, adds referrals and POS support, while the $499 Plus plan, for 3,000 orders, follows headless stores and checkout customization.

3. Joy: Third-party VIP, wallet passes and POS for $129 a month

Joy is rated 4.9 by more than 1,700 merchants on the Shopify App Store, and its free Starter plan handles 250 orders a month, covering points, rewards and fraud-protected referrals. It is a sensitive way to test a program at no cost.

The Advanced plan is the one to set against Yotpo Premium: at $129 a month for 2,000 orders, it includes VIP and wholesale tiers, a POS extension, Apple and Google Wallet passes and paid memberships. Essential, at $29 for 500 orders, adds points for social engagement and an AI copilot, and Ultimate, at $499 for 7,000 orders, brings checkout UI extensions and a REST API. Each paid plan charges for every 100 extra orders, from $15 on Essential to $5 on Ultimate.

4. GOOD Loyalty: a free start and a flat price with no order limit

BON Loyalty, from VEGAHUB Technology, takes the opposite approach to per-order billing. Its Growth plan stays at $129 a month whatever the number of orders and includes VIP and B2B third parties, which keeps the budget easy to forecast for a brand heading into a busy season.

Smaller shops can start free, with 150 monthly orders, points and a referral program protected by anti-cheat checks. Starter, at $15 for 300 orders, adds a loyalty page and birthday rewards, and the $29 Basic plan (500 orders) lets customers earn and redeem points in Shopify POS. Merchants rate it 5.0 across nearly 2,000 reviews.

5. Gameball: gamification priced by rewarded customers

Gameball builds its program around play, with time-limited campaigns, challenges and, on the top plan, a leaderboard. Its pricing also departs from Yotpo's model, since plans are sized by the number of rewarded customers rather than by orders.

The free plan covers 100 rewarded customers with points and referrals. Starter, at $34 a month for 300, adds five VIP tiers, free-product and free-delivery rewards and reward expiry, and Pro, at $159 for 1,000, unlocks unlimited tiers, segmentation and automated campaigns, with API access available for an extra $199. Guru, at $999, raises the ceiling to 10,000 rewarded customers and removes the limit on challenges.

6. Kangaroo Rewards: an option for WooCommerce and BigCommerce stores

Support for several ecommerce platforms is one of Yotpo's strengths, and many loyalty apps are built for Shopify alone. Kangaroo Rewards connects to WooCommerce and BigCommerce as well as Shopify, and to point-of-sale systems including Lightspeed and Heartland, which suits retailers who sell both online and in stores.

Entry-level Core costs $79 a month and handles points earning and redemption, with one basic integration. Plus, at $199, adds referrals, segmentation and automated marketing, and Elite, at $349, includes a white-label rewards app and AI-assisted campaigns. Larger groups can request an Enterprise plan with API access.

7. Okendo: a full replacement for Yotpo's reviews and loyalty

Okendo is the closest like-for-like option for brands leaving Yotpo altogether, reviews included: its catalogue for Shopify merchants covers reviews and loyalty, plus referrals, quizzes and surveys. Its loyalty page features brands such as NOBULL and Baltic Born, and mentions merchants that moved over from other providers, Yotpo among them.

Points reward orders, social activity, reviews and referrals, and can be spent on discounts, free products, free delivery or store credit, with VIP tiers and multipliers on top. The programme also works in Shopify POS. Okendo keeps its prices off its website: plans run from Essentials to Enterprise according to monthly order volume, on monthly or annual terms.

8. Rivo: a lower entry price for Shopify Plus brands

Rivo, whose tagline targets Shopify Plus merchants, starts well below Yotpo Pro: its Scale plan begins at $49 a month and stretches from 200 to 2,500 orders, with Shopify POS on up to three locations. Plus, at $499, removes the location limit, and larger brands move to a Custom plan.

Its feature set leans on Shopify's newest building blocks: loyalty inside Shopify Checkout, customer accounts with Shop, Google or Apple login, paid memberships and store credit. It counts more than 9,000 merchants, HexClad and Dr. Squatch among them, and a seven-day trial lets a team test it before committing.

9. Smile.io: VIP tiers and 2,500 orders for $199

Smile.io matches Yotpo Pro's $199 price point but offers more volume for it: its Growth plan includes 2,500 orders a month and VIP tiers, where Yotpo Pro includes 500 orders. Below it, a free plan covers 200 orders, Essential costs $15 for 500 and Standard $79 for 1,000.

All Smile.io plans include points, referrals and Shopify POS. Brands with higher volumes can move to Smile Plus (billed yearly at $999 a month, for 7,500 orders) or to an Enterprise contract, and the company's SOC 2 Type II audit helps when a security review is part of the buying process.

10. LoyaltyLion: a London-based option with a generous free plan

LoyaltyLion, headquartered in London, recommends its free plan for stores below 400 monthly orders, a useful way to rebuild a programme before paying anything. Classic follows at $199 a month and covers 500 orders, the same starting point as Yotpo Pro, with Shopify POS for a single location.

Advanced and Plus, both priced on request, extend POS to several locations and offer translation into over 130 languages; Plus also brings AI-driven campaigns and reward recommendations. A Loyalty Pass add-on puts the card in customers' phone wallets, and the client list includes British labels such as Oh Polly and Adanola.

Which Yotpo alternative suits your brand?

If you want to keep Yotpo Reviews, replace only the loyalty layer. Loyoly connects to Yotpo Reviews, migrates points and VIP tiers, and adds missions, a wallet card and in-store rewards, from £87 a month excluding VAT.

If you want reviews and loyalty from one supplier, Growave offers both in a single app with a free plan, while Okendo, which adds quizzes and surveys to the mix, suits larger Shopify brands.

If budget comes first, Joy, BON Loyalty and Gameball all start with a free plan, and BON's Growth plan keeps the same price at any order volume.

If you sell in shops or through stockists, check point-of-sale support before anything else. Loyoly links online and in-store activity whether the till runs on Fastmag, Cegid or Shopify POS, and can credit points from a scanned receipt, while Joy includes a POS extension from its Advanced plan.

If your shop is not on Shopify, Kangaroo Rewards covers WooCommerce and BigCommerce. For Shopify Plus brands, Loyoly's Premium plan, with white label and a dedicated account manager, and Rivo's checkout integration are the two to compare first.
