There are several apps that you can use to add reviews to your Shopify store, including Shopify’s free Product Reviews app.

How To Add Product Reviews Using Free Shopify Product Reviews App?

Product Reviews is free to use Shopify app that lets you share your customer’s experiences.

This app is customizable and seamlessly blends with your store’s overall look and appearance.

To install this app, all you need to do is go to

Click on the ‘Get’ button listed on the right side.

You’ll then be redirected to the setup wizard available in your Store’s admin panel.

Click ‘Apps’ 

You can now adjust settings according to your needs. The settings are fixed at ‘Auto Publish’ by default. However, you can also turn this option off. Find the ‘Auto Publish’ option and click on ‘disabled’. Click ‘Save’ to save your current setting.

Turning the ‘Auto Publish’ feature means that now you have to publish reviews on your own.

Publish A Review

To publish a review, you have to find the Product Reviews Unpublished tab. Locate the customer reviews you want to publish. Click on the ‘Publish’ button available on the right to complete the process.

There are multiple actions you can perform from the settings tab. For instance, you can unpublish reviews, delete reviews, flag inappropriate reviews, filter reviews, respond to reviews, and more.

Unpublish A Review

To Unpublish A Review:
  • Click on the Product Reviews Published Tab
  • Locate the review you want to remove from the list
  • Click on the ‘Unpublish’ button listed on the right

Delete A Review

To Delete A Review:
  • Click on the Product Reviews Published Tab
  • Locate the review you want to delete from the list
  • Click on the ‘Delete’ tab located on the right

Report As Inappropriate

To remove an inappropriate/scam review, you have to click on the ‘Report as inappropriate’ tab.

Filter Reviews

You can also filter reviews using the Filter bar. The purpose of the filter bar is to find the reviews based on the author’s name and the author’s email id.

Enter the term you need to find in the filter bar. Press the ‘Enter’ key. Wait for a few seconds to get the desired results.

Reply To Reviews

With Shopify’s Product Review app, you can reply to a review. Your response will be displayed side-by-side the original customer review

How To Integrate Product Reviews App To Debutify?

If you’re using Debutify, you can integrate the Product Reviews app by using the following steps:

  • Go to your Shopify’s Admin panel
  • Click ‘Apps’
  • Click on ‘Visit the Shopify App Store’
  • Write ‘Product Reviews’ in the search bar
  • Click on the ‘Product Reviews’ (Free) app option
  • You’ll be redirected to the app installation page
  • Click ‘Add app’
  • Click ‘Install app’
  • Copy the code snippet given and go to ‘Online store’
  • Click ‘Themes’ and then tap ‘Customize’ 
  • You’ll then be redirected to Debutify’s Settings page
  • Click on the Home Page dropdown menu and  click ‘ Product pages’
  • Click ‘Review App’ listed on the side menu
  • Click ‘Theme Action’ given at the bottom of the page and click ‘Edit Code’
  • Write ‘Review’ in the search bar
  • Click Review-badge.liquid
  • Paste code in the window and click ‘Save’

Dealing With The Bad Reviews

Nobody likes negative reviews. But in all honesty, negative feedback is part of the customer feedback process. No business can keep every customer happy.

Do not take bad reviews personally. Many times a negative review is an outcome of things that are beyond your control.

You can keep your settings to the ‘Unpublish Review’ option so that you can read reviews before they get published on your website (We have already discussed how you can turn off the ‘Publish Review’ option in your app settings.

We’d suggest not trying to remove every negative review (unless you think someone is trying to spam). The best strategy is to talk to the customer and turn negative feedback into positive.

If you have resolved the issue with the buyer, you can consider the following options to get a review removed from your website.

You Can Delete It

If you have already talked to the buyer and resolved the issue without any conflict, you can simply get rid of the negative review (you don’t need to remove every negative review as it will look fabricated and visitors might feel that the other positive reviews on your website are not legitimate).

You Can Reply To The Review

You can also publicly respond to the review and explain what was done to resolve the issue. Make sure you keep your tone friendly and accomodating instead of rude or aggressive.

Request A Customer To Leave A Revised Review

Another effective way of removing a bad review from your store is by requesting a buyer to post an updated review. Your customer can either drop another review to update others with the situation or remove the previous one.

You can delete the review straightaway:

  • If you think the review is fake
  • If the review contains inappropriate language
  • If it sounds like a personal attack on your online business
  • If the reviewer has never bought anything from your store
